Volkswagen is set to enter the electric sedan market with the ID.7, launching in late 2024, offering cutting-edge features and technology in two trim levels, Pro S and Pro S Plus, with pricing and range details pending.
The ID.7, Volkswagen's first foray into the electric sedan segment, is slated for a late 2024 release, bringing with it a host of advanced features across two trim levels: Pro S and Pro S Plus. While specifics on pricing and driving range are yet to be disclosed, Volkswagen has revealed that both trims will be powered by an 82-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, available in rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations. The rear-wheel-drive version boasts 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque, while the all-wheel-drive model ramps up to 335 horsepower.
The Pro S trim is well-equipped with 19-inch wheels, illuminated logos, a panoramic glass roof, and a suite of comfort and convenience features including heated, power-adjustable front seats with massage functionality, a 15-inch touchscreen, and an augmented-reality head-up display. It also includes the IQ.Drive suite for enhanced driving assistance, such as automatic lane changes initiated by the driver.
Upgrading to the Pro S Plus trim enhances the experience with 20-inch wheels, dynamic steering, Climatronic seats with superior massage capabilities, and a premium 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system. Five exterior colors will be available, alongside two interior color schemes, offering a range of personalization options.
As the launch nears, more details on the ID.7's pricing and electric range will be revealed, with the model expected to be a premium offering in Volkswagen's lineup. The availability of the ID.7 Tourer station wagon in markets outside the United States remains uncertain.
